Education transforms lives through understanding the philosophies and practice of teaching and learning. Our department offers a comprehensive range of programmes from undergraduate through to doctoral level, including bite-size professional development and full teacher training courses. We cater to students with a burning passion to support others in their educational journeys as well as those with a desire to advance research into education and pedagogy.
We are a well-established centre of education and training, and our school is home to the university's first National Teaching Fellow. The university has been ranked in the top five in the UK for teaching quality for two years running by The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019 and 2020 so you can be assured that we will focus on producing a positive learning experience for you. Our initial teacher education was rated as ‘good’ in the latest Ofsted inspection.
