How Your HEAR TRANSCRIPT Will Benefit You
Your Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) is a comprehensive record of your achievements in higher education. It will include information about your programme of study, the methods of assessment used, and any academic and eligible co-curricular achievements you have accumulated over time. It will therefore help to demonstrate that you are effective in the kinds of skills and attributes that employers are seeking e.g. problem-solving, communication, collaboration, adaptability, resilience, confidence, self-awareness. You can use it to help reflect upon the personal skills and attributes you want to develop and discuss it with your Personal Tutors and Careers Advisors.
Your HEAR will be available for you to use throughout your time in higher education as well as after you graduate. Presented in a standardised format, the HEAR facilitates comparisons between students’ achievements and hence can help you stand out from others. All entries to your HEAR are verified by the University, so that anyone viewing your HEAR (such as future employers) can be assured of the accuracy and authenticity of the information.
Additionally, through the Gradintelligence portal which the University is using to help deliver the HEAR, all of your University-verified academic and co-curricular achievements will be used to automatically build your personal profile which you can then extend with, for example, additional qualifications, experience, abilities and skills that will help you stand out from other job applicants. Via the ‘opportunity matching’ facility, you can select the types of opportunities you’re looking for, take free online assessments, get messages from employers and universities who are interested in you, and apply for vacancies directly.
