As part of our application and registration processes, we may need to review your medical history to ensure you will be safe when undertaking the course. We work in partnership with an Occupational Health Service Provider that also supports the NHS, to assist us with this process.
If relevant for your programme, we will contact you by email to ask you to complete a healthcare questionnaire, this will then be reviewed to check your medical and vaccination history. You may need additional vaccinations or immunity checks, or we may need to discuss other aspects of the information you have provided. In these cases, the Occupational Health team will assist you to organise the necessary checks or vaccinations as well as identify any reasonable adjustments that may need to be made.
If this information is requested, you must participate as it is a requirement of entry for your programme.

Without exception, it is a requirement for all clinical and healthcare programmes that an enhanced DBS clearance is obtained. All offers remain conditional until the disclosures are received. You will be able to enrol, but may be asked to leave the programme if your disclosure does not meet the requirements of the sector. The disclosure must be received before you will be allowed to go on work experience, placement or engage in any volunteering activity arranged through the University. If you already have enhanced DBS clearance, then confirmation of the disclosure number must be provided at enrolment.

Clinical and healthcare students on some courses are required to wear a uniform during their practice learning experience. You will order your uniform online, directly through the supplier’s website (Alexandra’s). During the first week of the course we will send all registered students on applicable programmes an email that contains a link to the online order form.
This email will also contain:
The online ordering system will be closed on the deadline stated. Your order will be sent to the address inputted into the ordering form as soon as the uniforms have been produced (around 4-6 weeks). The day before the delivery, you will receive an email from Alexandra’s confirming the return/exchange process if needed. Please note that they will not receive any returns after the deadline stated. Please note for some clinical courses, the uniforms will be delivered to the University for distribution before your placement or clinical skills sessions commence.
Please ensure you register and activate your University email address within the first week of your course so that you can order your uniform in a timely manner. There will be a follow up process for late registrants, but this will delay production and delivery of the uniform.
