Studying literature and the English language is more than just learning about the principles and techniques needed to create poetry or write a novel. This course will help you understand how literature shapes the world around us
What you will study
On our BA (Hons) English course, you will explore the different genres of literature including drama, poetry, fiction, non-fiction and more. Our expert lecturers are renowned academics with a portfolio of published material and they will take you on a journey of discussion, analysis and comparison, always trying to look at a piece of work from different perspectives to help you grow as a person. We have created this course to maximise your personal development, helping you develop and expand your English language skills, as well as analytical and research skills. With close links to real-world publications and creative events, you will be encouraged to attend guest lectures, engage with events and share your work. You will learn all about meeting deadlines, communication, critical thinking and other fundamental skills that any employer will expect from anyone applying for jobs after graduation.
