Bolton Wanderers proudly claim the Papa Johns trophy!

Over the weekend around 80,000 people, gathered at Wembley to witness history repeat itself as Bolton Wanderers won the EFL trophy for the second time, the first victory being in 1989, against Devon opposition. Bolton fans were left loud and proud after an emphatic 4-0 win.

Taking control of the match from start to finish, Bolton were destined for success and had their travelling fans chanting and cheering early on after scoring two goals within the first ten minutes; with Kyle Dempsey and Dion Charles getting on the scoresheet.

The second half of the game got off to a cracking start with a goal by Elias Kachunga within four minutes taking the score to 3-0. The fourth goal came in the 62nd minute scored by Gethin Jones to seal the win.

Bolton wanderers proudly claimed the trophy after their 95 minutes of consistent hard work paid off. The University of Bolton President and Vice chancellor Professor George E Holmes DL was at the game to experience the fantastic atmosphere created by the Bolton Support. A massive congratulations to all!
