To provide high quality care and meet the needs the local population.
I choose Bolton as the Higher Apprenticeship route provided me with a more accessible route into Nursing compared to a degree course. By training on the job I knew I would develop the relevant skills but also without the worry of funding or requiring a separate job along the way.
The apprenticeship option for this course suited me best as I did not possess the necessary qualifications in order to pursue a degree length course into nursing. By working through the apprenticeship route Bolton has enabled me and so many other potential Nurses and Nursing Associates who may not meet the required academic grades for a full university degree to pursue their dreams and help support an area of work that is consistently short of staff.
Learning on the job supplemented with university has really helped me develop my skills and knowledge and has only furthered my ambition for my future career goals.
I would suggest to anyone wanting to get into nursing to utilise the Apprenticeship route purely for the reasons of accessibility, not having the stress of funding or loans or debt at the end, you learn and earn on the job so you reduce the added stress of maintaining a job whilst studying full time separately and you also learn so many skills whilst you work. The course also has flexibility with placements and encourages the learner to organise them themselves, I feel that this is very beneficial as it allows students to cater the learning to themselves.
