University of Bolton, why we are the right choice
Location - Bolton, Greater Manchester
Nicola is a registered Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) who began her career in 2018. She worked for two years as an anaesthetic and recovery practitioner supporting patients throughout their perioperative journey with a local NHS Trust.
Having identified a passion for teaching and learning, Nicola began her PGCE 14+ soon after qualifying as an ODP and embarked upon a career in higher education. She joined the university in 2021 as an Associate Lecturer for the ODP programme and in 2022 became a Lecturer in Operating Department Practice.
Now a Senior Lecturer and Joint Programme Lead for the BSc Operating Department Practice programme (including Degree Apprenticeship Route), Nicola is currently undertaking her Master’s degree in education and is keen to develop both personally and professionally within her role at the university.
