Matthew France - MSc, DMI Expert, FHEA, PgCert, DipM, BA (Hons), is a self-published author and colleague of the Greater Manchester Business School. He is Programme Leader for BSc (Hons) Digital Management and Marketing, BSc (Hons) Retail Business Management (Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship) Pathway and a Link Tutor.
With a diverse background spanning 25 years in the retail industry, Matthew's portfolio boasts senior management roles at corporate powerhouses like Tesco, Marks and Spencer, and Aldi. Such real-world experience infuses his academic teachings, making him adept at fostering innovative learning experiences that seamlessly merge academia with the commercial landscape. Matthew's recent academic endeavors include launching the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (Retail) program, which was inaugurated with JD Sports.
Research Interests and Research Subject Specialisms: Matthew's keen areas of interest encompass small businesses, digital marketing, leadership, retail operations, organisational culture and change management, and retail strategy. These specialisms are a result of his extensive hands-on experience in the retail world, his entrepreneurial ventures, and his academic pursuits.
