Honorary Doctorate Dr Maurizio Bragagni, CEO and Chair of Tratos was made a Doctor of Business Administration for his outstanding contribution to business at a graduation ceremony in July. Dr Bragagni is celebrating after being presented with the Queen’s Award and is “thrilled” with the honour. Tratos, the advanced technology cable company won one of the most coveted of all business awards, a Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation for its new high-performance cable sheathing compound called Tratos JBA®. The specialist sheathing is tough enough to shrug off the most corrosive elements and protect cable function in the harshest of environments.
For the celebrations, the factory based in Merseyside was closed for the day for the first time in its history. Dr Bragagni was joined by special guests including Professor George E Holmes, Vice Chancellor of the university. Liverpool’s Lord-Lieutenant joined by MPs, the Mayor of Knowsley and other dignitaries toured the factory and met key employees.
Dr Bragagni said: “We were confident of the quality of our Tratos JBA® innovation and the advances it brings, but we were absolutely thrilled to learn it had been recognised with a Queen’s Award.”
Dr Bragagni was a guest at Buckingham Palace earlier this year where he met other winners for the Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
Tratos continues to develop new products and systems to advance its customers’ ambitions for improved performance, added benefits and reliable, consistent and safe operations.
