Sports rehab students and staff in media spotlight

A sports rehabilitation lecturer and two students supported the British Touring Car Championships at Snetterton race track last weekend.

Sean Devlin and students Josh Walsh and Aram Giglio provided sports massage to drivers before and after the race.

ITV4 covered the event and interviewed Sean live when he stressed the importance of therapeutic modalities and how they can support driver comfort and performance.

Meanwhile, Steve Rawes, Lecturer in Sport Rehabilitation and Strength & Conditioning, was interviewed on BBC Radio 5 Live on Bank Holiday Monday afternoon during Liverpool FC’s parade of the premier league trophy
Steve was featured alongside John Brewer, former FA Head of Performance, to discuss the performance management strategies required at elite level which has led to Liverpool’s success this season.

The full interview can be found on BBC Sounds (between 16:40-16:50 on Monday 26 May).

Motorsport students from the National Centre of Motorsport Engineering (NMCE) also attend the British Touring Car Championships annually supporting driver’s trackside at the Snetterton race track.
