Habits of a creative person

Do you ever pick-up a habit and wonder where you got it from?

As humans, no two people are the same. However, you will see common behaviours in people who share similar personalities, such as being a creative! The habits you pick-up are formed because of the type of person you are and if you aren’t sure whether you are a what category your personality lies in, after this read you may realise you relate with some of the common habits of a creative person.

You may have heard the term ‘left-brain or right-brain’ to describe someone who either has logistic (left-brain) or creative (right-brain) tendencies; however, no one should subject themselves to being specifically either left or right-brained because we all have logic and creative traits, some are just stronger than others! So, let’s see if you find out something new about yourself.

Working in your best hours

As a creative, your mind is constantly thinking of the best ways for you to produce the high-quality work. Finding the hours where your brain is in full effect and forming great work is something creative people value, and no matter what gets in your way you aim to stick to working in those hours whether you’re an early riser or a late-night worker.

You enjoy trying new things

Keeping the brain active by gaining new knowledge and skills is how the majority of creative people keep the wheels turning with their ideas. The new experiences you come across enable you to imagine, envision, and form new creative output. So, if you have habit of trying a new hobby but not sticking to it, the short period of time you invest into the hobby may be more useful than you think as it could ignite your creativity.

You enjoy people-watching

People-watching is normalised in the world of writers as observing human nature is important for them, helping them produce some of their best work. If you have a curious nature and enjoy watching and observing others, you probably are not aware that this is also a common habit of a creative person. You may come up with your own ideas of what the person is thinking, feeling, or what journey they could be on, and this can lead to generating new ideas!

You often lose track of time

From being engrossed in a new book, to getting ready for work in the morning, you may be prone to losing track of time! A lot of people tend to blame this habit on having a poor sense of time, however it is a strong sign of being a true creative! If you also have this issue when expressing yourself, writing or working it is known as being in a flow state. Getting into your focus zone is how you enable yourself to reach a state of concentration; end results hopefully producing great work!

There are many different habits you could have that display your creative traits, but we hope that by us naming a few that you realise you are more creative than you think. Maybe you are already aware of your creativity and now realise that habits you saw as normal are actually down to your creativity.
