Have we Lost the Art of Creative Writing

From being consumed in the world of social media to a lack of encouragement the written word, many people feel that the art of creative writing is lost. We discuss this in more depth below.

What is Creative Writing?

Before we look at any potential crisis in creative writing, we should understand what creative writing is and what makes a good piece of creative writing?  Creative writing is a type of writing, typically poetry or fiction, whereby invention or imagination are displayed. A good piece of creative writing is one whereby the creator lets their imagination run wild but does so in a way that people are able to go on the journey with the author. It is about honing those thoughts and presenting them in an exciting manner that your audience is able to comprehend. While creativity may be something you are born with, it takes a lot of hard work and discipline to perfect your writing skills.
