This Level 7 Advanced Diploma of CPD in Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults is ideal for professionals working with vulnerable adults, particularly those working in the community, health and social care settings and the independent or voluntary sectors. The University of Bolton's dedicated lecturers will guide you as you explore the concepts and strategies of safeguarding and protecting vulnerable adults in a variety of settings and contexts.
Covering topics such as the signs and explanations of abuse, including neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse and domestic abuse, we'll support you in developing an up-to-date, in-depth knowledge and critical understanding of safeguarding, abuse as a public health issue and best anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive practice. We'll discuss how to identify and analyse indications and signs of abuse, the ethical issues related to safeguarding and support you to think about how to recognise and respond to abuse. As well as exploring current policy and legal considerations, we'll encourage you to focus on the importance of inter-professional working and the multi-agency approach.
Overall, we aim to help you contribute toward the effective safeguarding of vulnerable adults in your professional arena and provide a sound platform on which you can continue to develop your knowledge of protecting vulnerable adults in the future.

You must have an appropriate health and social care-related qualification at the honours degree level (for example, registered nurse, nursing associate, assistant practitioner, allied health professional, or paramedic) or be working in the health and social care industry with the necessary prior educational/academic experience.
You may be required to attend an interview and/or provide a portfolio of work.

Course fees
Home students starting this course in the first year will be required to pay a Home fee of £800 for the academic year 2024/25.
Overseas students starting this course in the first year will be required to pay a Overseas fee of £800 for the academic year 2024/25.

EU nationals who meet residency requirements (have settled or pre-settled status) may be eligible for 'Home' fee status.
If you do not meet these residency requirements, overseas fees will apply. Irish citizens living in the UK or Ireland will be eligible for 'Home' fee status under the Common Travel Area arrangement.
