Government Funding: Part-Time Students 2021/22

Information for students commencing in 2021/22

Tuition Fees

Tuition fees for undergraduate part-time courses in 2021/22 will be shown in the Fees and Funding section of the course details on the university website.

Support From The Government

If this is your first part-time undergraduate or part-time PGCE 14+/Cert Ed 14+ course and you have not previously attained QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) you may be eligible to apply for financial assistance from the government to help you fund your studies. Applications can be made from the website: www.gov.uk/student-finance.

Tuition Fee Loan

A non means tested tuition fee loan will be available for part-time students to cover up to 100% of tuition fees charged

To access a tuition fee loan you must be studying at a rate of at least 25% of a full-time course

Tuition fee loan will be repaid when you earn over £27,295.

Repayments will commence from the April four years after you begin your course, but only if your earnings are over £27,295.

For courses commencing from 2018/19 there will be maintenance loans available for some undergraduate and teacher training courses. Please contact Student Finance England to check whether the course you are to study is an eligible course for maintenance loan funding +44 (0)300 1000 607 

The following will be available for students commencing on an eligible part-time course from September 2019 onwards:

A student maintenance loan of up to £9,488 may be available for part-time students studying at University of Bolton who are not living with their parents. The maximum loan amount for students who are living at home with their parents is £7,987. The actual amount of loan available will depend upon intensity of study.  Please note students must be aged under 60 on the first day of the first academic year of the course in order to be eligible for part-time maintenance loans.
