How to register for your Graduation Ceremony and purchase guest tickets

GRADUATION TIMINGS

Booking will open soon, we will let you know when to book.

In the coming weeks, you will receive instructions on how to book your free student ticket and your guest tickets. You can purchase up to two guest tickets at £15 each. All tickets need to be booked at the same time.

Additional tickets will be available later, subject to availability.

We recommend booking as soon as possible, as ceremonies may fill up quickly. If your ceremony is full, we will offer you the option to attend an alternative ceremony.

Due to limited capacity at the Albert Halls, all guests, including children over 6, require a ticket. There is a Live Stream area in the Festival Hall for guests with children under 6. Please note that ceremonies may not be suitable for babies and young children.

You will receive an email from the Graduation Team sent to both your University and personal email addresses (please ensure your details are up-to-date in the Student Portal).

Please check your junk/spam folders and ensure that you add graduation@bolton.ac.uk to your safe contacts list.

If you do not receive your invitation email and believe you are eligible to attend a ceremony, please contact the Graduation Team as soon as possible at graduation@bolton.ac.uk. Be sure to include your student ID number to help us locate your record quickly. Due to GDPR regulations, we are unable to discuss your account or graduation details with anyone other than you, including parents or guardians.

Once you have completed your studies and your award is confirmed, you will be able to book your ceremony. Please note that you must select the ceremony listed in your invitation email.

If you have not yet completed your studies or are still awaiting confirmation of your award, you will be able to book your tickets after University Results Day on Wednesday 25 June 2025. You will receive an error message if you attempt to book before this date.

You must book your guest tickets at the same time as your free student ticket.

We strongly encourage you to book your academic dress and photography as soon as you receive your invitation email, even if you are unable to book your tickets yet.

Students must register to attend their ceremony by 5pm on Friday 30 May 2025, or risk being unable to attend.

If you need to defer to July 2026, email your request to graduation@bolton.ac.uk, and the Graduation Management Team will respond in due course.

You must have successfully completed your award by Wednesday 26 June 2025.

You must have paid all debt owed to the University. You will not receive any information for your ceremony if you owe outstanding debt, please contact our Finance Team at creditcontrol@bolton.ac.uk.

No, regardless of whether you join a ceremony or not, your degree is valid. If you do not wish to attend, you do not need to do anything. However, please note we are unable to defer your Graduation to 2026.

Your certificate will be posted to you at a later date.

The Greater Manchester Business School and the Albert Halls are accessible with ramped access/lifts, if applicable.

Please get in touch with the Graduation Team if you or your guests require any support. You can contact the team at graduation@bolton.ac.uk. British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation is available upon request.
