University of Bolton, why we are the right choice
Location - Bolton, Greater Manchester
We offer student work experience in our Sport & Physical Activity Rehabilitation Centre (SPARC). This includes clinical and simulation placements in our specialist facilities, where our students will have access to a range of learning and use of specific resources such as the: Anatomy.tv from Primal Pictures, Vicon motion capture, Delsys/Trigno wireless electromyography, Alter-G treadmill, isokinetic, hydrotherapy and fully equipped, industry-standard strength and conditioning, and rehabilitation suites.
We currently offer sport rehabilitation programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These programmes are designed to educate, stimulate, and challenge our students. Our programmes are also accredited by the British Association for Sport Rehabilitation and Trainers (BASRaT), the UK regulator and professional association for sport rehabilitators. To make sure that we continue to meet all their professional competencies and ensure that our students gain experience on all aspects of the role and responsibilities of sport rehabilitators, we must provide a total of 400 hours of professional practice placements across the private and voluntary sectors. This will give them a broad experience on all aspects of the role and will also enable our graduates to apply for registration with BASRaT upon successful completion of our programmes. During their study our students will complete over 800 clinical hours across the primary care, private and voluntary sectors to enable them to meet the requirements of their professional body.
