Laura Barton

Lecturer in Nursing (Child Field)

Laura is a Registered Children’s Nurse and qualified in 2007 with a DipHe. She has a BSc (Hons) degree from the University of Central Lancashire in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (Health visitor). Laura’s career has seen her practice on both medical and surgical children’s wards and she has spent 13 years in the community working within public health. During this time Laura has worked in a variety of roles leading on the health, development and protection of children whilst also training and educating the workforce in these areas.

Laura joined The University of Bolton in 2022 and she has taught on the Pre-registration Nursing programme (child field). Laura plans to complete her Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and Professional Practice whilst in this role.
