Beth Lewis Harkin

Lecturer in Nursing

Beth is a Registered Adult Nurse and qualified in 2014. She spent her Clinical Practice years working in Main Theatres at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, primarily in Neurosurgery and ENT/Maxillofacial surgery. She also has experience in Trauma Surgery across multiple specialities, and has a Post-Graduate Certificate in Peri-Operative Practice.

As well as delivering patient care, Beth found that her interest and skill set were well matched for supporting students in practice, leading her to pursue a career in education. She joined the University of Bolton in 2020, and has taught mostly on the Pre-Registration Adult Nursing and Trainee Nurse Associate programmes.

Beth is passionate about her role in supporting learners throughout their time at the University, and was nominated for Personal Tutor of the Year by her students in 2021.
