Asif Timol

Senior Lecturer

With over 23 years of experience in the legal sector, Asif is a practicing solicitor specialising in Employment Law at Fairmont Legal based in Bolton. After graduating from the University of Liverpool and completing his LPC at the College of Law, Chester, he completed his training with one of the country’s leading law firms. He has gained extensive experience advising individuals, SMEs, as well as multi-national corporate clients on a wide range of legal matters. He also has demonstrable advocacy experience in the County Courts and Employment Tribunals.

Asif has a keen interest in cases involving discrimination in the workplace and advises employees seeking recourse through the Employment Tribunal as well as employers on avoiding the pitfalls and ensuring compliance. He is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and volunteers as a legal supervisor for a charity supporting victims of discrimination. He also provides pro-bono legal advice in this field.

Outside of the legal field, Asif sits on the board of governors at a leading grammar school and the board of trustees for a charity.

As a senior lecturer and legal practitioner at The University of Bolton for the Professional in Practice and Preparation for Practice modules, he also oversees the Legal Advice Clinic.
