Open Days and other Events

Visiting a university you are considering applying to (or have already!) is a great way to get a feel for the place, helping you make an informed decision when making your choices. Our Open Days offer a mixture of presentations and tours, alongside activities and workshops led by our own students and Student Life team, designed to give you a snapshot of what being a UoB student is like.

Every Open Day is slightly different but you can be assured of a friendly and welcoming experience whether you choose to you can come along solo, or invite friends and family along to make sure you ask all the right questions.

What event is right for me?

Open Day Extra - These all singing, all dancing timetabled events cover all of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. They combine subject talks and workshops across our full campus, with opportunities to speak with lecturers, support staff and current students about studying at Bolton. These events really do go the ‘Extra’ mile to help you with your future study decisions.

Mini Open Day - These smaller scale drop-in events allow you to speak with our academic staff about all elements of the programme, as well as discover the wide range of support available to you as a Bolton student. These events are perfect if you have quick questions or want to find out more about our courses on a one-to-one basis.

At the above events representatives from the disability service, student funding, student services and careers service are also on hand to discuss any additional support needs you may have, advise you regarding tuition fees, fees and funding as well as offer guidance regarding your future career and increasing your employability.

School of Arts & Creative Technologies Open Day - This specialist event is focussed on our courses within the Arts and Creative Technologies sector, with expert advice and guidance, tours of our specialist facilities and engaging workshops delivered by our academic staff.

Note: - If you are interested in courses outside of the School of Arts & Creative Technology, please you book yourself onto one of our other fantastic open events to get the best experience and advice

Admissions Drop-In - Speak with our expert admissions team about your application. While our academic staff won’t be present, you can be sure to get all the information you’ll need regarding our admissions process, your status and next steps, and the opportunity to ask any other questions you may have.

Nursing Open Evening - These specialist events cover our School of Nursing and Midwifery courses. Hear from our academic experts about our programmes, placement opportunities and ways to make sure your application stands out, as well as touring our state-of-the-art Clinical Simulation Suites.

CPD Events - These virtual drop-in sessions cover our accredited Continued Professional Development options delivered at the University, ranging from stand-alone modules to Master’s degrees. If you are a current health and social care professional looking to keep your skills, knowledge and behaviours up to date, this is the event for you.
