WIN a 3 day trip to Lisbon sponsored by the University of Bolton in support of the United Nations Ocean Conference – Portugal 27th June to July 1st 2022.
The United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC), co-hosted by the Governments of Portugal and Kenya, comes at a critical time as the world is seeking to address many deep-rooted problems which have been further laid bare by the COVID-19 pandemic. To mobilise action, the UNOC will seek to propel much needed science-based innovative solutions aimed at starting a new chapter of global ocean action.
This is your chance to have your say, and:
• Win a 3 day trip to the United Nations Ocean Conference in Lisbon, Portugal this summer
• Attend the University of Bolton conference ‘Save our Ocean, Protect our Future’ Conference on-campus, April 28th 2022
How to Enter
1. We would like to invite you to submit a 1,000-word essay, or A1 poster creative with a 250-word commentary, to express your views on the important topic of what we can individually or collectively commit to do to improve our oceans and our environment.
2. Your entry will need to cover the following topics equally: What do I think when I think about the ocean? What is my main concern about the ocean? What can I do as an engaged citizen/what can we do as a community to contribute to save the ocean and protect our future?
 
Conference Programme
The University is co-organising, with the Consulate of Portugal in Manchester, a one-day ‘Ocean Conference’ to promote UNOC on Thursday 28 April at 11:30am.
This event will take place at the University’s Social Learning Zone and will include presentations on the importance of the ocean to Earth. Read more
