Megan Robinson

Associate Lecturer – Psychology

I completed my undergraduate degree in 2018 in Criminological and Forensic Psychology at the University of Bolton, and graduated with a Masters degree in Applied Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Lancashire in 2019. I have experience working as a mental health support worker based in Trafford, then became part of the Mental Health Liaison Team in the A&E department at Victoria Hospital in Blackpool, and then progressed to working at Bupa as a Mental Wellbeing Practitioner. I have held numerous voluntary positions throughout my studies that include working with probation services, prisons, intervention and support services for ex-offenders, as well as volunteered on a secure unit.


Research Interests and Research Subject Specialisms:
My research interests include criminology, emotional intelligence, the Dark Triad, micro-expressions, facial expressions and mental health.


Teaching specialisms;
I am mainly teaching on the Criminological and Forensic Psychology (BSc) course, but am also supporting teaching on the Foundation Psychology course.

Publications and Research:
My Masters dissertation studied the relationship between vocal emotion recognition with traits of Autism Spectrum condition, and my Undergraduate dissertation studied the relationship between the Dark Triad, Emotional Intelligence, and Punishment.
