Location - Bolton, Greater Manchester
Mohammad is a Graduate Teaching Associate at the University of Bolton. He is a graduate of the Edinburgh College of Art, MArch in Architecture and Urbanism, DipArch in Architectural Design and BArch in Architectural Engineering from Aleppo University, Syria. He is an associate member of the British Institute of Facilities Management and a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
As a qualified architect, he has the experience of working as partner-architect with an architectural firm based in Syria. The role involved designing spaces to meet the needs and preferences of local people and contributing positively to their sense of wellbeing. He also won the credits to design spaces to be healthy, viable and sensitive to the social needs through his work in different cultures.
He gained interest and experience in regeneration through his heavy involvement in urban regeneration projects and in particular, redeveloping and improving the quality of life in informal settlements. The role involved investigating the impacts of design and architecture on human perception and behaviour. He also investigated the impacts of spatial integration on the social integration and their role in creating social inclusiveness.
The centrepiece of his current research is investigating the role of facilities management in regeneration and sustainable communities.
