Bursary

We are offering a new cash bursary to finalists choosing to study a Career Development Master’s degrees. As a home/EU student, you will be eligible for a £3,000 bursary that includes £2,400 in cash, and a further £600 as part of our #UniAsItShouldBe cashless bursary scheme that provides access to a range of technology products and learning materials.

The GAME Changers Bursary 2020 is designed to reward those students who embark on one of five specific Master’s courses at the University of Bolton in September 2020.

There are three pathways for this award: 

  •  University of Bolton Graduate GAME Changers
  •  Non‐University of Bolton Graduate GAME Changers
  •  International University of Bolton Graduate GAME Changers

Amount

  • University of Bolton Graduate GAME Changers
    • Students eligible for this award will receive a £3,000 bursary paid as follows: 
      • £600 to your UniAsItShouldBe card upon successfully completing the full enrolment process and paying your first fee instalment
      • £2,400 paid via BACs in three installments of £800 when fee instalments are paid 
  • Non‐University of Bolton Graduate GAME Changers
    • Student Eligible for this award will receive a £2,400 bursary paid as follows: 
      • £600 to your UniAsItShouldBe card upon successfully completing the full enrolment process and paying your first fee instalment
      • £1,800 paid via BACs in three instalments of £600 when fee instalments are paid
  • International University of Bolton Graduate GAME Changers 
    • Students eligible for this award will receive a £3,000 fee waiver and a £3,000 bursary paid as follows: 
      • Fee waiver will be applied as a scholarship to reduce the total tuition fees
      • £600 to your UniAsItShouldBe card upon successfully completing the full enrolment process and paying your first fee instalment
      • £2,400 paid via BACs in three instalments of £800 when fee instalments are paid

*Please note, International tuition fees are higher than Home/EU tuition fees, the fee waiver for International students will align the fees with that of Home/EU students. 

Eligibility

This award is available only to students who meet the eligibility criteria and are undertaking one of the following courses: 

  • MA/MSc Bespoke/Integrated Studies
  • MA Creative Industries
  • MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation
  • MSc Data Analytics and Technologies
  • MSc Human Society

This award is available to International/Home/EU students who have graduated from the University of Bolton studying an eligible ‘GAME Changers’ course. It is also available to Home/EU students who have not graduated from the University of Bolton studying an eligible ‘GAME Changers’ course. 

This award is only available for specific Master’s courses starting in September 2020, no other intakes will be included.

Graduates must meet the normal entry requirements for the Master’s programme, including the usual pre‐requisite degree course. 

Payment

This award will be paid according to the table set out above with a £600 payment to each qualifying students’ UniAsItShouldBe card, followed by BACs payments made in line with fees being paid. All payments are subject to continuing eligibility.

Terms and Conditions

  • Students who interrupt, suspend or withdraw from the Master’s course will forfeit their right to the scholarship. Should they wish to re‐join the course at a later date, fees will be payable for any outstanding modules not completed
  • Students in receipt of this scholarship will not be eligible for any other scholarship, bursary or award from the University whilst studying the Master’s course
  • This scholarship is made entirely at the discretion of the University
