Chibuzo Nlemorisa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Technology from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria. He advanced his education by earning a Master of Science degree in Dental Technology from the Queen Mary University of London, graduating with a distinction in 2022. To enhance his expertise in teaching methodologies, Chibuzo pursued a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher and Professional Education, attaining recognition as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in 2024.

Chibuzo’s professional journey began as a Dental Technologist at the Military Hospital Lagos and the Argungu General Hospital in Nigeria (2015-2018) where he worked collaboratively with multidisciplinary dental care teams to deliver high-quality patient care, contributing to treatment planning, the fabrication of dental prostheses, and the training and mentorship of intern students.

He transitioned to academia in 2018, joining the Department of Dental Technology at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, as a Graduate Assistant where he made significant contributions to curriculum development, and assisted in teaching Dental Materials Science, Material Processing, and Orthodontics modules, and supervision of undergraduate research dissertations. Chibuzo during this time, served as a key member of the department’s curriculum review committee and the department’s web development representative, where he contributed to refining and enhancing the academic programme, and oversaw the online presence and digital resources for the department correspondingly. Furthermore, he provided strategic support to the School of Health Technology in his capacity as the Personal Assistant to the Dean, showcasing his versatility, strong leadership and administrative capabilities and commitment to institutional growth.

Chibuzo after completing his master’s programme, expanded his academic and professional footprint by joining the Dental Technology Department of the University of Bolton in 2023 as an Associate Lecturer. His multifaceted responsibilities included supervising master’s dissertations, teaching the Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics modules in the MSc Digital Dental Technology programme, and supporting the Employment Practice modules in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics, and Orthodontics within the BSc programme. Serving also as the University Link Lecturer and Placement Officer for the BSc Dental Technology programme, he was instrumental in recruiting, building and maintaining partnerships with dental laboratories across the Northwest of England and beyond, ensuring the students had access to high-quality placement opportunities.

Research Interests and Research Subject Specialisms:
Chibuzo has conducted research on the manufacture of Type III dental stone, optimisation and 3D printing of resin polymer composites, natural fibres and dental ceramics, and biomaterials-cell interactions, with additional interdisciplinary interests in 3D bioprinting, bioactive materials, materials functionalization, and biopolymers and tissue engineering.
