Amber joined the university as an LLB student and completed the LLM with a Distinction, focusing on Human Rights law and Family law amongst other things.

Her current role includes leading the Family Law module and supporting students' academic journey.

Her specific research interests lie in Family law and the Human Rights implications that domestic laws may have on minority communities. She is currently researching the impacts of Family law practices and provisions on transgender parents within the UK and the Human Rights issues that arise within this for her PhD.

She has an interest in the wider impact of the law and how this shapes, as is shaped by, society as a whole.
