Support for Mentors and Assessors of the University of Bolton Initial Teacher Education 14+ programme

Welcome to our professional practice mentor and assessor website.  We would like to thank you for agreeing to mentor and/or assess one of our trainee teachers.  This website provides general information and updates to all current mentors and asssessors and their line managers, as well as providing a means of completing mentor and assessor training.  In order to complete the training you will need to undertake the 'quiz' provided on the mentor and Assessor Information and Training page (see link right hand column).

The links and resources on this page are intended to give you an overveiw of the ITE programme and help you understand what is required in order to fulfil your role as mentor and/or assessor.

The support we receive from all our mentors and assessors is invaluable and certainly very much appreciated by the trainees themselves.  A positive experience in the teaching placement has a large impact on the trainees’ progress and development.  Therefore this website is designed to assist you in this role.  Each year we collate and summarise all mentor evaluation sheets and update our mentor guidance and training accordingly. We hope you enjoy your mentoring and assessing experience.
