Sam Humphries

Lecturer

Sam is a Registered Adult Nurse and qualified in 2016. She spent her Clinical Practice years working in Emergency nursing and Hospice care.

Sam’s focus and interest is in palliative and end of life care. Both delivering this care and supporting learners to develop their knowledge and understanding.

Engaging and supporting learners to become compassionate and competent registered nurses is what drew Sam to the role of Nursing Lecturer. Since commencing her position at the University in 2021 Sam has been able to support learners through her role as personal tutor and module tutor. As module lead for a first-year module Sam has supported students with their introduction to medicines management and practice placements.

Sam is passionate about nursing education and was a nominee for Outstanding Lecturer 2023.

Research Interests and Research Subject Specialisms:
Palliative and end of life care.

Teaching specialisms:
Medicines management.
