Dawn Baxter

Lecturer - Nursing

Dawn is a Registered Nurse (Adult) with a BSc honours’ degree in nursing and a post graduate qualification in non-medical nurse prescribing. She has 32 years’ service in the NHS in medicine and rheumatology with 20 years of specialist nursing experience. Her previous role as a non-medical prescriber/rheumatology specialist nurse was delivering timely interventions of holistic care with continued support and monitoring within the outpatient hospital setting to patients diagnosed with a rheumatological autoimmune disease.

Dawn has experience in nurse-led clinics and working as an autonomous practitioner with clinical expertise in rheumatology medicine. Her desire for continued lifelong evidence-based learning and a passion for teaching led her to her current role as a nurse lecturer, transitioning her skills from a clinical role to academia.

Rheumatology medicine.

Nursing, nurse-led clinics, clinical supervision, rheumatology medicine.
