Welcome to Mathematics

We are a small department with a well established BSc Mathematics degree. We have both full time and part time undergraduates. Our Mathematics degree is the only one available to part time students in the North West. We have traditionally taken a good proportion of mature students in addition to those who have recently taken ‘A’ levels – read our Student Profiles.

In 1999 we achieved a score of 20 out of 24 for our Quality Assessment Review.

We have designed our degree to be an interesting and broad education in mathematics which gives a good foundation for most of the various careers which mathematics graduates choose. As a third of our graduates go into teaching we have an optional Teaching Experience Module in the final year.

We also have a part time Access Course for those who do not already have sufficient qualifications to start on the degree.
