 Professor Jennifer Leeming is a Solicitor who specialised in Criminal Law first as a Litigation Partner in private practice and subsequently with the Crown Prosecution Service.

 In 2000 she was appointed as Assistant Deputy Coroner in the Manchester South Jurisdiction where she served until her appointment as a full time Coroner for the Coroners Area of Manchester West in September 2001. The jurisdiction comprises Bolton, Salford, Wigan and Leigh, although Jennifer is based in Bolton, where her Courts and Office are situated.

She has previously served as a Non Executive Director of the East Cheshire NHS Trust, and in governance roles as a member of the Council of the Law Society of England and Wales, and as a member of the Governing Council for the Registration of Forensic Practitioners.

She is currently Salaries Secretary of the Coroners Society of England and Wales, and she also Chairs the Society’s Local Government Committee. She is a Member of the Ministry of Justice Coroners Advisory Group and of the Ministry of Justice and Department of Health Post Mortem Radiology Imaging Group.  Jennider is also an Honorary Director of the Univeristy's Centre for Contemporary Coronial Law.

Jennifer’s interests include travel, art and theatre. She is married to Mike, and has one son, David.
