Amongst the University’s alumni is FibrLec entrepreneur and supercar designer Dr Tony Keating, who studied Automobile Engineering at Bolton Institute during the Nineties, went on to achieve an MBA and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in 2013.

Tony was born in Manchester and is one of the University’s most successful Alumni.  His road to success began with a course at Bolton Institute of Higher Education, the institute which became the University of Bolton.

Tony studied Automotive Engineering, as well as representing the Institute in Rugby League against France. The course enabled him to begin work in the engineering industry and in 1998 he set up his own business.
