HOW TO APPLY

Applying to the University of Bolton is easy, but there are several different application methods depending on what type of course you wish to apply for. Please click on the link below to jump to the relevant section for you.

Applications for the following types of courses are made directly to the university. Please select the type of course below for further information on how to apply:

Pre-degree & further education courses (e.g. access courses , polymaths)
Applications for access courses are completed using the university’s Online Application Form. To apply, find your course using the course search function from the university home page, select the ‘How to Apply’ tab and follow the instructions.

Undergraduate courses  (Part-time and January entry)
Applications for part-time undergraduate courses and courses not starting in September are completed using the university’s Online Application Form. To apply, find your course using the course search function from the university home page, select the ‘How to Apply’ tab and follow the instructions.

Teacher training courses (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE)
Applications for the Cert Ed) and the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and other teacher training courses are completed using the university’s Online Application Form. To apply, find your course using the course search function from the university home page, select the ‘How to Apply’ tab and follow the instructions.

Postgraduate taught courses (MA/MSc/MBA/PgDip/PGCert)
Applications for all Postgraduate Taught courses are completed using the university’s Online Application Form. To apply, find your course using the course search function from the university home page, select the ‘How to Apply’ tab and follow the instructions.

Postgraduate research programmes (MPhil/ PhD/EdD)
Please visit the Postgraduate website for further information on how to apply for Postgraduate Research Programmes .

Professional development courses
Applications for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses in Health and Social Care should be made through CPD Apply. For further information and specific application details please visit the Health & Social Care website.

Applications for all other Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses at the university are completed using the university’s Online Application Form. To apply, find your course using the course search function from the university home page, select the ‘How to Apply’ tab and follow the instructions.

Can I get the application form in a different format?

Yes you can! The application form is available in alternative formats. Please contact Student Services by telephone on +44 (0)1204 903 903 or ku.ca1542200881.notl1542200881ob@sn1542200881oitac1542200881ilppa1542200881 if you would prefer a PDF, paper copy or an alternative format. Please return your completed application form to Marketing & Admissions at the address shown below. Please do not send your application form to the department or tutor.

In order to process you application as quickly as possible please ensure that all required sections are completed and requested documents (qualifications, references, immigration documents) are enclosed or attached.

Full-time, Undergraduate home (UK) applicant

Please apply through UCAS (the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service) for September entry.

You can apply for up to five courses through UCAS (at the same or different institutions) for a fee of £22. Alternatively, if you only wish to apply for a single course at a single institution then a reduced applicant’s fee of £11 is applicable.

International applicants

International applicants can apply for full-time foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate courses via a University of Bolton representative or agent in your country.
