The Reverend Canon Dr Paul Denby MBE KStJ JP DL was educated at the universities of Manchester and Sheffield and began his working career as an Electronic Engineer before being ordained into the Church. In addition to his work for the Church, Paul has significant involvement in a large number of community groups and charitable organisations, including the Order of St John and local schools.
Paul taught religious education in a secondary school and worked as an external school counsellor dealing with children with disruptive behaviour and specific learning difficulties. From 2000 to 2007, Paul was a GCSE level teacher at Chetham’s School of Music. He has also been the Chair of Governors at three local authority schools.
Paul recently retired from his post as the Clerk to the Lieutenancy of Greater Manchester, a role he held since 2007.
