Professor Ray Sheriff

Professor - Technology Assisted Living

Professor Ray Sheriff joined the School of Engineering in February 2019, having previously worked at the University of Bradford, where he was Professor of Electronic Engineering.
Professor Sheriff received a Bachelor of Engineering Honours (BEng Hons.) Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Leeds in 1986. He then worked within the satellite communications industry before taking up a Lectureship in 1991 with University of Bradford, where he received his Doctorate (PhD) in 1995 and Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2010. His teaching and research interests are in the fields of mobile and satellite communications.
Professor Sheriff holds Visiting Professorships at Beijing University of Chemical Technology, and Sichuan University, China. He is Chief External Examiner at the University of the West of England: Bristol for its Engineering, Design and Mathematics programmes.
Professor Sheriff is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET), a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a Chartered Engineer (CEng).
