Lecturer in Sport Rehabilitation

Jess is a lecturer on the BSc (Hons) Sport Rehabilitation degree. She graduated with a First Class Honours in BSc (Hons) Sport Rehabilitation in 2010, is an active member of the British Association of Sport Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT) and holds a PGCE in Higher Education. She is currently studying an MSc Sports Medicine and is keen to undertake research in disability sport or post-amputation rehabilitation.

Jess had primarily worked in Private Clinical Practice before joining the staff team in 2015. She is a Senior Clinician in the Sports and Spinal Injuries Clinic and works with Wigan Warriors Physical Disability Team. Jess enjoys using real-life clinical scenarios and experiences and brings these into her teaching.

Jess is the Enhanced Personal Tutor for the programme where she ensures students have the appropriate support inside and outside of the classroom. She is the Armed Forces Champion for the university, is in the Army Reserves and is involved in creating a pathway to help with the transition for service leavers into civilian life via degree programmes at the university.
