After graduating with a Diploma in Adult Nursing in 2003, I worked as a staff nurse on a gastroenterology ward, after six months I then moved to a urology surgical ward. Following this, I completed a BSc (Hons) in Midwifery in 2007 at Salford University.
I worked as a Midwife at the Royal Bolton Hospital for 12 years on a rotational contract, covering all aspects of pregnancy and childbirth continuum. Within this time, I worked in NNU for six months in 2013.
During my time as a Midwife I identified that I had a passion for teaching and working with student midwives, observing the learning journey.
I commenced at the University of Bolton in January 2020 in the role of Work Based Apprenticeship Trainer. Working with students, completing apprenticeship learner reviews and supporting them in practice. I strive to use the skills and knowledge I have gathered during my career to support students.
I have a particular interest in developing my teaching skills. I endeavour to continue to develop both professionally and personally within my role at the University.
