Ella Whitcomb-Khan

Lecturer in Psychology

I studied my BSc Psychology at The University of Sussex before completing my MSc Sport Psychology at Liverpool John Moores, where I’m now working towards my Professional Doctorate in Sport and Exercise Psychology.

I’m a Lecturer in Psychology within the Psychology Team and I lead on the Exercise Psychology and Behavior Change module within the MSc Sport and Exercise Psychology. In this module I utilise my applied experience to help students to develop applied knowledge and skills. I also support across other modules within the school.

Through my consultancy practice I work within the fitness industry to educate and support fitness professionals in exercise psychology and behavior change. I have also worked within several sports including football, swimming and rugby league supporting athletes with wellbeing and performance concerns.

Research Interests and Research Subject Specialisms:
I’m particularly interested in researching the impact of monitoring technologies on people’s experiences of exercise and their motivation.
