I am an Associate Lecturer for the BDes(Hons) Special Make Up Effects for Film and TV.
Over the last six years I have enjoyed balancing a role in education and as a freelance artist. As a freelance artist with a BA(Hons) in Photography my work has ranged widely from practical based painting, illustrating and sculpting commissions, to working within a small team of VFX artist with software including ZBrush, Photoshop and Autodesk Maya to produce 3D and 2D assets for commercial clients.
I am currently working and exploring ways in which digital creative tools, software and 3D printing can help and enhance traditional physical based SFX projects and workflows.
Working within education I have particularly enjoyed helping young people and students to engage and succeed with subjects that they have found particularly challenging or difficult.
I am passionate about using my experience and skills to work with Special Effects Make Up students, to use computer based VFX industry software like ZBrush and Photoshop to help enhance and compliment their practical SFX Make Up skill and knowledge.
