Dr Nicola Shaw

I love stories, whether they are told on stage, screen or in books. My teaching and research interests reflect this. My love of theatre began early and has continued throughout my educational and professional life. I have worked as a performer, workshop leader and acting agent before moving into academia and these experiences inform the work that I do with the Theatre and Performance programme.

I also lead the Creative Writing programme and contribute to the English programme with a focus on Adaptation.

I am the co-founder of Creative Talent Bolton, an inter-departmental collaborative project between theatre and media, which acts as an in-house agency. Creative Talent Bolton aims to provide students and alumni with the best possible work experience in their creative fields, whilst enabling them to grow their professional and personal networks.
