Dr Linda Withey currently holds the post of Lecturer in Early Years and Childhood Studies at the University of Bolton. My professional background is as a teacher in Early Years and Primary education. I have an overarching interest in learning and development through play and a particular focus on language development. My PhD study was concerned with the ‘strategies for teaching and learning for children with English as an additional language, in primary settings’. Other areas of interest are the health and wellbeing of young children, music and the creative arts, working in partnership with parents, and social history.
