Dr Reddy Kandadi is currently leading the academic function at the University of Bolton as its Pro Vice Chancellor, with overall responsibility for all Faculties and the Off-Campus Division, including global partnerships development. He led the design and implementation of a major academic strategy to transform the institution into a Teaching Intensive Research Informed (TIRI) University, with “success of students” at the core of the approach. He has a highly successful track record of 15 years in Higher Education in the UK, with an early career in the commercial sector at Tata McGraw-Hill in India.
Dr Reddy Kandadi has a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and a Master’s Degree in Business Information Technologies from the University of Manchester. He gained a PhD Degree that earned a Global Outstanding Doctorate Award for his thesis from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) in 2007. As part of his PhD, he did extensive research work in the field of Knowledge Management and studied a number of global corporations in Germany, India and the United Kingdom. These organisations include Daimler AG, Alcatel, NHS, Wipro Technologies, Hewlett Packard, and Oracle Corporation. For this research work, he also won an Outstanding Journal Paper Award in 2006 from the Journal of Knowledge Management. He also successfully completed the Top Management Programme (TMP) from the Leadership Foundation.
He has established a number of successful strategic academic partnerships in Asia, Europe, the Middle-East, and Africa. He has a deep cultural understanding and local insights of these global education markets with a core ability to establish constructive relations with various stakeholders including local governments. During his career as Reader, Executive Dean and Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr Reddy Kandadi has developed proven expertise in design and delivery of innovative educational models with a deep understanding of underlying technologies, quality assurance systems and institutional processes.
His research and academic interests encompass Knowledge Management, Business Process Transformation, e-Business, SMEs, Virtual Learning and Cloud Technologies. He has developed and successfully delivered Enterprise Research projects in these areas including Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs), European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) projects and many bespoke research projects in the aerospace, manufacturing and service sectors in the North West of England. During his research career, he developed and successfully delivered Research projects worth over £3 million.
Dr Reddy Kandadi has also been a member of many professional bodies, reviewed various journals, supervised PhD students and presented at conferences globally including TEDx Talks in the field of Knowledge Management, Innovation and Information Technologies. He served as the Deputy Chair of the Board at Alliance Learning, an independent training provider and charity based in Horwich, specializing in the delivery of Apprenticeships and Training Courses for young people. He is a member of the Board of the Manchester India Partnership (MIP), established to develop deeper economic, educational and cultural relationships between the Greater Manchester City Region and India. He also serves as a Director on the Boards of the Centre for Islamic Finance and the Centre for Opposition Studies. His long term passion and interests include widening participation into Higher Education, SME development and graduate employability in a global perspective.
