Dr Ann Kolodziejski

Senior Lecturer

Ann is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Sport and Biomedical Sciences, where she teaches on the BSc (Hons) programmes in Biology and also Medical Biology. She completed her BSc (Hons) in Ecology at the University of Leeds in 1991, then went on to study Environmental Monitoring at master's level at the University of Bradford in 1993. This was followed by a European Master's in Environmental Management at universities in Belgium (Fondation Universitaire Luxembourgeoise at Arlon), Italy (Politecnico di Torino and Joint Research Centre of the EU at Ispra) and in the UK (Institute of Environmental Policy Analysis at the University of Huddersfield), in 1994.

Ann then went on to work as a Research Assistant for the European Research and Training Centre for Environmental Education (ERTCEE) at the University of Bradford where she convened a number of international conferences including the Euro-Rivers conference in 1995.

Ann has worked for British Gas and United Utilities, and also has experience of working with local authorities. She completed her PhD in 2014 in the School of Environment and Development at the University of Manchester, supervised by Dr Joanne Tippett and Dr Mark Baker. Her thesis was entitled "Connecting People and Place: Sense of Place and Local Action".
