Academic Coordinator/Senior Lecturer

Donna became a NMC Registered Nursing Associate after graduating in 2019. Prior to employment at The University of Bolton, Donna worked as a Nursing Associate at a local NHS Foundation Trust. During this time, Donna had developed a keen interest in coaching and teaching others and having identified this, was keen on building upon those foundations.

Donna joined the University later in 2019 as a Work-Based Apprenticeship Trainer. Continuing on her learning and professional development journey, Donna enrolled on the BA (Hons) Learning, Teaching and Assessment in Professional Practice in 2020. Simultaneously, during this period a CPD programme, Preparation for Education and Training was also completed. Further promotion followed with securing an Associate Lecturer role. Preparing teaching resources, using the most up to date evidence ensured the sessions were informed.
Completion of the PGCert in teaching, learning and assessment followed and commencement in the role of Lecturer. Donna has mentored colleagues through their PG Cert programmes since and is keen on developing her skills to support further development with colleagues in the future.

In August 2022, Donna commenced in the current role of Academic Coordinator/Senior Lecturer. Leading with recruitment activities, including marketing events. Engaging with colleagues, employers and people who use services and carers. Donna also collaborates with colleagues across the wider university to align with the ethos of the university and work towards meeting the strategic plans. Donna continues her lifelong learning by currently undertaking further study; MA Teaching and Learning in Higher and Prof Ed.

Research Interests and Research Subject Specialisms:
Donna’s research interest is recruitment and retention with considerations of the wellbeing of learners and colleagues in Higher Education. Donna’s passion for higher education continues to evolve and she enjoys supporting both colleagues and learners.
