Andy Jones

Senior Lecturer

Andy served in HM Forces for 8 years and then took up posts in the NHS and Private hospitals before entering the world of elite sport – principally Football (Preston North End, Burnley, Everton and Charlton Athletic) and Rugby League (Wigan Warriors). Andy started in H.E at Edge Hill University.

He studied for an M.A. in Education at UCLAN and then an MSc in Manual Therapy at Coventry University.

Currently Andy is on the EdD programme here at the University of Bolton

Research Interests and Research Subject Specialisms:
Clinical reasoning
Clinical decision making
Orthopedic medicine
Sports injuries
Men’s health.

Manual Therapy
Exercise therapy

Publications and Research:
The development of a framework to teach: Clinical Decision making to physiotherapy students.
Gold standard assessment of a Straight Leg Raise – using three different methods: goniometry, visual and an app.
Rehabilitation post prostatectomy.
