Dr Ahmed Tamkin Butt joined the School of Engineering as a Lecturer of Mechanical Engineering in 2019.
Dr Butt graduated with a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham in 2014. He then went on to complete his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nottingham in 2019. His PhD was co-sponsored by the Malaysia Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) and the University of Nottingham.
Dr Butt has expertise in mechanical engineering as well as subject knowledge of electrical engineering and materials science. His research interests lie in the application of fluid mechanics and fluid-structure interaction to mathematically model blood propagation in healthy and diseased human arterial networks to improve clinical diagnosis.
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD), Fluid-Structure interaction (FSI), Mathematical modeling, Cardiovascular mechanics, Generalized transfer functions.
