Strictly winner and former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher was the special guest at a night of Bollywood entertainment to raise money for the Mayor of Bolton’s charities.

The event, sponsored by the University of Bolton’s School of Medicine and held at Bolton’s Albert Halls, included live entertainment, a DJ singing, and dancing.

Kelvin, whose BBC programme Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure, is proving a hit with audiences, mingled with guests and posed for photos.

Nihit Tiwari, President of the University of Bolton’s Students’ Union, said: “It was a fantastic event and everyone had an amazing time.

“It was great to see so many people supporting the evening and helping to raise money for the Mayor’s charities and we were delighted that Kelvin also supported our successful event.”

The food was provided by Royal Exotic Catering and a raffle and charity auction raised money for the Mayor of Bolton’s nominated charities, Fortalice, Bolton Hospice, Bolton Wanderers in the Community, and Girl Guiding.

Several local organisations worked together with University of Bolton ‘Fresher’ students to organise the event – She Inspires, including the University of Bolton and the University of Bolton SU, the Best of Bolton, and Bolton Council.
