Students from the University of Bolton’s School of Creative Technologies learned about the importance of staying protected against cybercrime in a recent seminar.
The ‘Cyber Security Awareness’ event was held to improve the knowledge and the experience of students and staff.
The seminar was delivered by the North-Western Cybercrime Police unit and highlighted how individuals and organisations could reduce the risk of being affected by cybercrime
Louisa Murphy, Cyber Protect Officer in the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (NWROCU), talked about cybersecurity, cybercrime, methods to prevent phishing, ransomware, scams and hacking programs.
It was the first in a series of monthly scientific seminars organised to examine various technical fields within the School.
