Come and Explore #UniAsItShouldBe – Featuring a Murder Mystery to Solve and Doctor Who’s Famous Enemy!

14/03/2023

We all love a good ‘whodunnit’! From the latest storyline in BBC soap opera EastEnders, to popular crime dramas such as Silent Witness, Line of Duty, and Broadchurch, they always have us on the edge of our seats!

Dalek in University colours

So, what if we told you that you could experience one first-hand with an immersive murder ‘whodunnit’ experience live from the University of Bolton’s campus? All you have to do is register for our upcoming Open Day on Saturday 18 March 2023 from 9:00am – 4:00pm!

The immersive experience will be run by the School of Law and will showcase your problem-solving skills as ‘Murder on Campus Two: Death in a Car Park’ is set to feature the trio of the murder, investigation, and court case during the Open Day. This mock crime investigation will follow up on the University’s popular outreach event, ‘Murder on Campus’; what better way to show how Bolton University can support your ambitions in a challenging law and criminal justice sector than to act out a potential real-world scenario? In fact, participants will gain the opportunity to try their hand at serving justice by attempting to solve the case in our dedicated Moot court.

Interested in the experience? Come and try it out from 10:00am – 12:30pm; don’t forget to book your place!

Look out for a Visit from Doctor Who’s Famous Enemy!

Those who are fans of the sci-fi series Doctor Who will be aware of the show’s arch-enemy, the Dalek. Well, after being given a fresh makeover in University colours by talented and creative BDes (Hons) Special Effects Modelmaking for Film and Television students, the dreaded Time Lord will be making an appearance at the Open Day to mingle with visitors!

What Else Can You Expect from the Open Day?
