Discover@Bolton is a new service that allows you to search multiple databases at once via a single interface. As well as searching the databases, you will be able to access full-text content from these databases where that full-text is available.
To access Discover@Bolton, click here or click the 'Search Discover@Bolton' buttons on the library website, as below:
Enter your search term and hit return or the "discover" button. To refine your results, use the filters on the left-hand side of the screen. Refine by item type, subject area or publication date, for example. You can also restrict your results to items that are only available as full-text, or that are from peer-reviewed publications. If we have access to the full-text, you will be able to access the full-text from your results.
In addition, Discover@Bolton will generate definitions of terms: look out for the information on the right-hand side of the screen. Chose the "
If you are working off-campus, look for the red banner at the top of the screen, click on the link within that banner, and enter your Bolton network ID when prompted to do so.
Discover@Bolton enables cross-searching of most of our databases, included, but not limited to:
- Most ProQuest databases, including ProQuest Central, Design and Applied Arts Index and the International Bibliography of Social Sciences
- All Ebsco databases, including CINAHL, Art Full Text and SportDISCUS
- Taylor and Francis Online
- Wiley Interscience
- Oxford Reference Online
- HeinOnline Law Journal Library
- Royal College of Nursing Journals
- Sage Journals
- Emerald Journals
A number of open access resources are also included, such as the University of Bolton Institutional Repository (UBIR). In addition, e-books and their content are available, and printed book records will be available very shortly.
